Booked for Lunch is the HCPL Foundation’s annual fundraising luncheon held each year in November. Our next event will be on Monday, November 9, 2026, at the Junior League of Houston.
On November 10, 2025, the HCPL Foundation hosted the first annual Booked for Lunch. The Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation and the Ladies of Literacy were honored at the luncheon for their years of support of the Harris County Public Library. These two generous groups were instrumental in creating the Curiosity Cruiser, the mobile libraries on wheels, and the Family Spaces in the library branches.
Our guest speaker was New York Times bestselling author Katherine Center. She dazzled the crowd with the stories of her journey to writing romantic comedies, her experience having two of her books made into movies, and her very first book, written in sixth grade.
